ABOUT

Founded in 2024 in Accra, Ghana, Limbo Museum is a pioneering institution redefining the intersection of public art, architecture, and design. Built on an oxymoron, Limbo calls itself a museum while actively contradicting the spatial and programmatic conventions of the traditional Western institution rooted in coloniality. Instead of constructing a new building—the so-called Bilbao Formula—Limbo Museum inhabits an abandoned, unfinished brutalist concrete shell, embracing the "unfinished" as a canvas for creative possibility.

Through year-round programs, including public talks, artist residencies, workshops, and immersive research initiatives, the museum sparks vital conversations around the future of architecture, sustainability, and the transformative power of art. It stands as a space where creativity is not confined by structure but inspired by it, shaping a new vision for the future of art and design in Africa and beyond.
